January brings the snow, makes our feet and fingers glow.
Hello, everyone!
It is now a week into February, but I thought I'd share with you my favourite beauty-related products from January. Better late
than never, right?
For a list of the products and where you can purchase them, just scroll down. :)
1. Batiste Dry Shampoo Original: This dry shampoo is a lifesaver for someone like me who is super lazy when it comes to hair! If you don't want to go through re-washing, blow-drying, and straightening/curling/etc. again or just need a little extra volume, this is the perfect product for you. I have yet to find a better dry shampoo than this one.
2. Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Balm - Peppermint: This has replaced my forever-used EOS lip balm (the little egg-shaped one). It is super moisturizing and tastes like peppermint! Yum, yum. Perfect for these cold months.
3. & 4. boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil Gel & boscia Tsubaki Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask: Last month, my skin was probably the driest it has ever been in my life. I tried literally everything (different cleansers, exfoliators, moisturizers, etc.) to try and fix it, and nothing was working. After using the boscia Tsubaki line, my skin was immediately better after one use. I use the cleansing oil every morning and evening, and the sleep mask at night if my skin needs a little extra moisture. The cleanser is great because it is an oil-based gel, making it super light. The mask is great because it goes on clear, is really gentle, and you can sleep with it on instead of having to worry about washing it off in however many minutes. Both products leave the skin feeling super smooth, and they have a pleasant citrus-y scent. boscia products fall on the more expensive side, but they are worth the price. A little product goes a long way, so you won't find yourself running out anytime soon. Seriously recommended if your skin is suffering from the cold. Added bonus, they are preservative-, artificial fragrance-, color-, gluten-, and ethanol alcohol-free.
5. NARS Guy Bourdin One Night Stand Cheek Palette: I was so lucky to find this product at a Sephora in San Francisco when I was there in January because it was completely sold out here in Vancouver. It is a handy product for travelling as it has four blushes, a bronzer, and a highlighter all compacted into one sleek package. Unfortunately, this product is no longer available as it was part of the limited edition Guy Bourdin holiday collection, however, you can purchase several of the blushes separately!
6. MAKE UP FOREVER HD Pressed Powder: My first ever setting powder! Can you believe that? Obviously I'm a bit biased because I haven't tried other setting powders yet, however, I love how this powder makes my skin feel. It also keeps my face matte and prevents my concealer from setting into the lines under my eyes.
7. benefit The POREfessional: This primer is super soft and really helps even out my skin. I don't have huge pores, so I can't really comment on that aspect of the product, but it does help fill in the little lines on my face. The only downside to this product is the smell - I can't even describe it, but it isn't that pleasant.
8. The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream: I love the Vitamin E line (I use all of the products as part of my skincare routine), and this BB cream is no exception. As someone who doesn't like to wear foundation that often, this product has been really useful. It is a heavy, mousse-like consistency, so you only need to use a little bit of product to cover your whole face. It is a very light-coverage, so if you are used to a medium- to heavy-coverage, you may not be a fan if that's the case. However, this BB cream is great if you're looking for a nice glow, or looking to even-out the skintone. Definitely needs a setting powder though, or you may risk looking a bit oily.
What were your favourite products last month? :)
Much love,
Jaclyn
